After an episode of more than 20 years of wars, suppression and destruction Liberians try to live a normal life, but besides what is in people's minds, there will be always places and buildings that remind them of the past.

  • Christmas1989. At this bordercrossing Charles Taylor entered Liberia. The war started here. In 2011 Buutuo was a transit place for Ivorian refugees. The locals suffer from it; they run out of food.

  • Former headquarter of one the many gangs that tried to take power over Liberia. Right from this place the battle over Monrovia started, at April 6,1996.

  • The grave of a citizen of Harper. He was shot on his doorstep by Taylor's troops. He was buried by his neighbours, next to his house.

  • The New Bridge. At this stratefgic place, n July 2003, heavy fighting took place between rebel forces and governnment forces. This location is known for the famous picture of a rebel taken by Chris Hondros.

  • Massgrave at Duport Waterside, just outside Monrovia. Locals built a little memorial building, where people can get together.
